K + B | Greek Orthodox Wedding in Mykonos
"I am over the moon!"
These are the first words uttered by Katherine when we told her we are still available for her wedding date. It was a speedy response at night. She took it was a sign. We knew it was a sign. Contract was drafted and signed within hour.
But first, a bit of context:
"My das was born in Greece so this wedding is going to be very sentimental for him. We will have about 50 guests at this stage. The wedding will start at 3pm at the little church behind the windmills, it's on a cliff overlooking the water and we will be standing at the front of the church with all our guests behind us. Then we have allowed some time for photos before we head to Mykonos Blu Hotel for the reception and welcome drinks around 6:30pm. Other than that, we really don't have any particular plan for the wedding day. We just want it to be a really natural, fun day, nothing too serious. Eat, drink and party!"
Done deal! It seems like the lack of clutter really let love and genuine emotions be the star of the whole day. Even to the point that their hired wedding planner didn't show up at all and they were still so fucking calm about it and didn't freak any hair out. We dig that spirit. This is the reason why we love shooting destination weddings in the first place. Getting married in Mykonos: such a way to indulge yourself in the beauty of this island.
Good food, great party spots & stunning views help make Mykonos a must for anyone searching for the vacation, let alone wedding. Dreaming of the Mediterranean, picturing yourself watching epic sunset colors over beautiful beaches, the Greek island of Mykonos is the way to go. Location surely helps, but in the end it's the people who deliver.
“Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day. You shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.” ― Ralph Waldo Emerson
